It depends on the size of the project. For larger projects, we must inspect the boat’s gelcoat damage and assess what processes and materials will be necessary in order to perform a quality repair. Once we have inspected your boat, we will be able to provide an estimate. Depending on the complexity of the repair, we usually have an estimate back to you within a day or two. For most major projects, we sometimes cannot commit to a set price and will charge on an hourly basis, providing progress updates along the way. On smaller jobs, we can sometimes give an estimate if you provide us with descriptive photos and boat model information. Any estimates given by email are subject to inspection.

Certain larger projects must be performed at a marina or at an industrial site. We can work in almost any marina in Southeast Florida and nearby as long as the marina accepts our insurance policy. We are based out of Palm Beach County, certain smaller projects are subject to a minimum travel fee.
In Southeast Florida it is important to always keep your boat’s gelcoat surface protected from UV exposure. This requires a maintenance plan. Wax, polymer sealant or a ceramic coating can be applied on the gelcoat surface for protection. Whenever your boat is washed, the proper soap must be used as harsh soaps can strip away waxes, sealants and coatings leaving your gelcoat unprotected to UV exposure and prone to oxidation. Once the gelcoat repair project has been completed we will be happy to share our expertise and advise what we feel is the best plan to protect your boat’s gelcoat surface.

While we do our best to work with every customer’s budget, when it comes to fiberglass or gelcoat our company policy is only to do the repair with the best quality materials and processes. Because of this policy, it doesn’t easily allow us to stay within a stated budget. We do provide an estimate to give an idea on costs before we begin each project. For larger projects where estimates cannot be given upfront, we will work with a budget in terms of labor and materials and provide a progress report usually on a weekly basis in terms of what has been completed within the provided budget.
